The lovely @wingroad and I decided to have some fun in Love Nikki, a mobile styling game, and tried to recreate some of our favorite pairs as girls (plus the actual girls XD).

If you’re wondering where Girl-mine is in all of this, we apologize – currently, Love Nikki only has a limited range of facial expressions that are appropriately ganguro tan, so we couldn’t style her properly. orz

Starring, in order of appearance:

@wingroad as Kagami Taiga and yours truly as Kuroko Tetsuko. We actually had the darnest time trying to find hair that would suit girl!Kagami, bc the game doesn’t have a lot of red hair styles and most of those are too elegant for her. Sporty is the way to go here! Kuroko was a lot easier to dress bc his canon style is all about soft colors and somewhat demure/conservative clothes. The only reason that Tetsuko’s not showing up in a cable-knit vest here is that I wanted to show off the stripey blouse. Also, someone clearly gave Kagami dating advice (Alex??) because she showed up to their first date with a gift. Can you guess what it was?

Next up, we’ve got yours truly as Riko and @wingroad as Momoi! There’s surprisingly a lot of items in the game that can be used for a pretty close recreation of Momoi’s regular outfit, but trying to put Riko in something resembling her Seirin uniform was out of the question. Outfit is somewhat loosely based on some of the casual stuff she’s worn in canon/promo materials. Also, ask me how hard it was to find shorts that do NOT end five miles before they even get to her upper thigh. -_-”

Position #3 has myself as Kasamatsu Yuki and @wingroad as Kise Ryo, who not-so-subtly wanted to impress senpai by showing up in shades of Kaijou, and was dismayed to learn that dearest Yuki-senpai is an out-of-uniform fashion disaster. (Fun fact, most of the items making up Kasamatsu’s disasterrific outfit are actually based on stuff he’s wearing in canon/promo materials, including baggy knee shorts, honest-to-god snapback hats, and jackets tied around the waist (sadly impossible to do in-game). I couldn’t quite bring myself to put her in stripey crocs here though. Even I have my limits XD;;;)

(Extra fun fact? Kasamatsu Yuki is still horrible at talking to girls, which may or may not be part of why she’s not putting up more resistance to the styling tornado currently whirling around her).

In fourth place we have @wingroad as Akashi Seiko and myself as Mayuzumi Chihiro (hooray for unisex names xD). Ofc Akashi is the rich ojousama who gets chauffeured to school every morning (I just forgot to add the car back in, sorry Iza! XD;;), and @wingroad​ deserves all the props for sticking her with the most unsettling face in the game. Mayu’s outfit is supposed to resemble his Kurobas Cup getup, though the girl version went a little more edgelord (edgelady?) here.

(Fun fact? Apparently girl!Mayu is a lot of people’s type, because I got more than a dozen other people taking photos with her. Who knew, eh? XD)

Next up,@wingroad as Murasakibara Atsuna and yours truly as Himuro Tatsuo. If you’re wondering why Murasakibara bothered to put on lipstick, she did not, in fact, do that. That’s all residual food coloring. XD (The game has a surprising amount of sweet food items to style with.) Finding a good hairstyle for Himuro was rather more difficult than you’d think – there’s really only two or three styles that vaguely lean towards covering half of one’s face in the game. Also, if you’re finding the beauty mark a little odd, that’s bc it’s a tattoo (and also the reason why there’s two). As of yet, there’s no make-up with a beauty mark in the game. XD

And finally, we’ve got @wingroad as Takao Kazumi and yours truly as Midorima Shino (fun fact? “Shino” means “stem of bamboo”. She certainly shot up like one, didn’t she XD). I’m unashamedly in love with @wingroad’s styling of Takao here and will fight anyone who disagrees on its perfection. Midorima was a bit difficult to style – though the game (surprisingly) has some green hair, it has next to no skirts that are not so short you can practically hear Girlrima screeching about the public indecency, nanodayo!!! She also ended up a bit more stylish than the frumpy old maiden look I wanted for her – maybe I should have stuck her in a knit grandma jacket after all? XD

Anyway, the lucky item shop was a lot of fun to arrange. It’s actually the same stall that you can see on the right of the MuraHimu picture; I just strategically posed Takao to cover up the shopkeeper cat (don’t ask XD) and then “stocked” it with various background accessory items.
